La’gaan, Lori, Blubber, Topo, Garth, and Tula had been pulled in to help Kaldur, Kon, and M’gann at almost 1:00 in the morning. They’d confronted Ronal and his friends, it got broken up by Kaldur and the others, and four hours later Mera had been abducted by the purists and Ocean Master. That entire situation rapidly spiraled out of control. La’gaan had rarely interacted with the young vassal-king, but he found he’d had a low tolerance for Sha’ark’s attitude of, ‘If you think kisegra are barbarians I’ll show you just how much of a Neptune-damned barbarian I am when I rip your head off, chum.’ It was a conflicting feeling on one hand La’gaan understood all too well why Sha’ark was so aggressive and willing to tear into someone, but on the other hand he was a king with an enormous amount of power who didn’t seem to care if anyone weaker than him got hurt- and that reminded La’gaan entirely too much of the bastard he’d been trying to get away from when Mera found him. Even so, La’gaan would have preferred if Ronal wasn’t there Sha’ark either for that matter. Others could meet the two surface-dwellers at will, which at least accounted for why their small group of friends were the only others present. As such, making sure that two of the most powerful players at the Conservatory- Ronal as the son of the consul magistrate of Poseidonis, and Nanaue Sha’ark the current vassal-king of Nanauve- had been the logical move.
Kaldur had become much more politically aware since he’d officially become the king’s protégé and had gone to the surface. While La’gaan didn’t like it, he recognized Kaldur’s efforts to not be playing favorites for what they were. The film is set to release world-wide on Apby Vertigo Releasing in the United Kingdom and Ireland and Sony Pictures Relesing internationally.Introductions had been easy enough, aside from the fact that Kaldur had apparently felt the need to include Ronal and Sha’ark in his introductions. The film's original score will be composed and produced by Hans Zimmer, Heitor Pereira and Ramin Djawadi with the score being recorded at Air Lyndhurst Studios in London.
The australian-based animators animated their parts in the Animal Logic building. The Canadian-based animators at Imageworks were based in Canada and the non-Canadian based animators were sent to Australia for animation. Alessandra Sorrentino, one of the film's directors wanted to make this like a low-budget film, so the animators did terrible lip syncing when some of the characters are talking. Like previous Sony Pictures Animation films, the animation will be provided by Sony Pictures Imageworks. Sony Pictures Imageworks was also announced to provide animation services for the film. On June 16 2021, the cast for the film was revealed, including Robert James Rallison, Erica Lindbeck, Rob Brydon, Adam Longworth, Lewis MacLeod, David Schneider and Mark Bonnar. On May 7 2021, Heitor Pereira, Hans Zimmer and Ramin Djawadi were announced as composers while Nick Moore was announced as editor. The film was announced on Maby Sony Pictures Animation, Screen Australia, the UK Film Council, the British Film Institute, Vertigo Films and Columbia Pictures.
